In Cold Blood, the recent ITV documentary to which we contributed, was named the 2021 International Emmy Winner for Current Affairs at a ceremony in New York last night.

Directed by the respected Marcus Plowright for DSP Productions, In Cold Blood pieced together the story of the Infected Blood Scandal, which contributed to the biggest loss of life in NHS history. The programme interviewed Factor 8 campaigner Jason Evans, those affected and their families, decision-makers and experts including our very own Collins Solicitors partners, Des Collins and Danielle Holliday. It took a forensic approach to the timeline and documentary evidence available to form a hard-hitting documentary, which The Independent described as a story of institutional malpractice by the NHS.

We are delighted that In Cold Blood has received this recognition on an international stage. The programme’s continued success helps raise awareness of what our clients have experienced and shines a further spotlight on the infected blood tragedy which must never be forgotten and from which important lessons must be learned.
