Des Collins, Senior Partner of Collins Solicitors, representing over 1,000 victims and their families as well as eight campaign groups, comments:
“The first week of testimonies at the Infected Blood Public Inquiry has made it very clear to the Inquiry, the Government and the public, that the experience that many people have been through as a result of receiving infected treatments has been unimaginable.
It is not easy to stand up in public to share such difficult personal stories, but, sadly, those we have heard this week are just the start. There are thousands more terrible stories to tell, and in the coming weeks and months we will hear many more.
It is too early in the Inquiry’s proceedings to know precisely where this will lead, but this first week has been a huge step in the right direction to helping those infected and affected to start to get to the truth.”
