Des Collins responds to the consultation on the terms of reference announced by Sir Robert Francis QC today

Responding to the consultation on the terms of reference announced by Sir Robert Francis QC today, Des Collins, Senior Partner, Collins Solicitors, legal advisor to over 1500 people affected by the contaminated blood scandal, comments:

“We welcome Sir Robert’s speedy engagement with his new role to oversee a review of compensation for those impacted by the infected blood scandal. It is good that the proposed terms of reference have been made public so swiftly and that he will consult on the scope of his review and is inviting feedback so as to achieve a workable framework. We believe that our clients will need proper legal representation to provide a meaningful contribution to this complex process and hence we are committed to working on a pro bono basis with them to ensure their best interests are taken into account. It is great that Sir Robert has indicated that he is open to listening to the voices of the infected blood community at this very important juncture.”
