Musician awarded £64,000 after being injured in accident

A musician has been awarded £64,000 compensation after suffering injuries to his hip in a road accident.

The collision happened when he was riding his scooter on a main road and was attempting to turn right on to a minor road. He was hit by a 4×4 vehicle entering the main road from the minor road.

He fell and landed heavily on his left side, injuring his hip. He had to undergo multiple operations and regular physiotherapy. However, his injury was permanent, and he will continue to experience some pain and a reduced range of movement in the left hip.

His career as a musician was affected as he missed key promotional events which reduced his earnings.

He brought an action against the driver of the 4×4, alleging that he was negligent in failing to drive safely.

The driver disputed liability but agreed to an out-of-court settlement of £64,000 to compensate for the musician’s pain, suffering, reduction in earnings and loss or amenity.
